Tata Motors' popularity in the Nepalese market is reaching newer heights. From hatchbacks to SUVs and EVs, Tata Motors along with its partner Sipradi Trading is enjoying a greater market presence in the Nepalese market. The demand for Tata Motors' passenger vehicles has been on a continuous rise in the last few months, backed by popular models like Nexon and Tiago.
'The Tiago is safe and comfortable, and it provides an excellent driving experience,' says Manoj Rajkarnikar, Deputy Director of IT at Himalayan Bank Ltd.' Dual airbags, a rearview parking monitor, EBD and CSC (Corner Stability Control) and anti-lock braking technology are safety features offered by Tata Motors in Tiago. Tiago's security features also include a speed sensing automatic door lock, and a rear wiper with a defogger. A puncture repair kit is also included in the car.
Apart from its safety features, Manoj is also equally impressed by Tiago's interiors. Not to forget the infotainment system. The Tiago gets a 7" infotainment system by Harman with 8 speakers. The 8 speaker surround system with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters provides a class leading experience.
Similarly, Krishna Poudel, IME Life's Pokhara Cluster Chief, is also pleased with Tiago's connectivity features. The steering mounted controls allow him to control multiple features from the steering wheel. 'The Tiago is an excellent family vehicle. Apart from the connectivity features, the child-lock mechanism is also very helpful for children's safety,' said Krishna, the cluster's head.
Following suit, Sanjeev Dhungel, Branch Manager of SBI Bank Dang, also considers the Tiago to be a family car. 'The Tiago is quite safe. It also has a parking sensor that aids in parking. On top of that, the interior is quite spacious and the seats are very comfortable too,' he added. Sanjeev also found the Tiago to be quite economical. The Tiago returns a mileage of 20 km per litre. The fuel tank capacity stands at 35 litres.
Sharing his experiences with the Tiago, Upendra Nepal, Branch Manager of Prabhu Bank Jhapa, says that the Tata Tiago is the most powerful vehicle in its segment and it is suitable for both the city and highway. He mentions, ‘Tata Tiago has all the necessary features the consumers want. Having such a vehicle with a capacity of 1200cc is commendable. In addition to giving more mileage, Tiago's ground clearance is also relatively good.’
The Tata Tiago has a 170mm ground clearance and a 2,400mm wheelbase. It has 1199 cc displacement and is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron, 3-cylinder petrol engine. The engine generates 86 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 3,300 rpm. The Tiago is available in five-speed manual transmission and five-speed AMT transmission options.
Tata Tiago is also the first choice of another corporate head Sabita Dhakal. When asked the reason, she said that the vehicle has more ground clearance and the driving experience is equally pleasant. She says, ‘The design is good. The gear shift is easy. So, the Tiago is my car of choice. '
Meanwhile, Nabil Bank's Chief of Credit Administration, Rabin Baria, thinks Tiago's interior design is very appealing. He described the interior as 'premium'. The Tiago has a dual-tone dashboard. Inside, there is enough room for the occupants. The driver's seat can also be customized to the preferences and the front seats have headrests too. In the centre, there's a cup holder and a cooled glovebox.
The digital instrument cluster and 7-inch infotainment screen in the car make driving easier, according to Rabin, Head of Nabil Bank's Credit Administration. It also features Apple Car Play and Android Auto Connectivity.
Tiago also offers comfort features like automatic climate control that is automatic and steering mount control. The Tiago's boot has a capacity of 242 litres.
According to Shawant Jung Sijapati, Head of Sales and Marketing, Tata Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, the Tiago offers a superior safety experience.
